I'm 17 and need some advice. I was first diagnosed with ADD/ADHD when I was 10 or so. I've been having problems my entire life. Excessive energy, depression that lasts for days at a time, horny all the time, out bursts of frustration and anger, times when I feel I can't get out of bed, crying uncontrallably for no reason or too many things pile up, can't sleep at times cause my mind won't shut off. Just everything you can possible think of. I can't open up to people cause I don't want them to have to feel bad or concerned for me. I want to just deal with my problems on my own but it's getting worse. My parents are going through a messy divorce and I can't talk to them about what's going on with me right now. Is this classic bi-polar behavior and symptoms? Or do I have other things that just aggrivate everything else I'm dealing with? anyone have an advice, suggestions, or comments?

Hi, It sounds like maybe u do have bi-polar disorder and there is a lot of proof that assoicates ADD with Bi-polar....I know it is hard to talk to your parents but maybe see if you can talk to them some to get you into seeing a psychologist or even a counsler. If you feel you can't do that much maybe try to find a teacher or counsler you can talk to at your school and see if they can give you some help. Don't let it fester inside you. It's hard to tell people what's going on but talk to someone...Good Luck

God yes Katie. I think u have it. everything u described was the same as me and i have had it since i was 14. i am the same way, i really try to handle it on my own. i refuse meds too. i dont take any for my ADHD or my Bi-Polar. but it's hard.

also, i read that ppl with ADHD can have an accompanying disorder like Bi-Polar. It's like, when all the problems of ADHD(or ADD) get to piling up, you 'crack' as they say, and can develope depression or some other disorder.

anyway, i think it's important to seek help. especially if you're in the early stages. if you are, believe me, dont wait for the later ones. they're not fun.

hi katie,
i feel led to talk to u for some reason, its quite a coincidence that i have a best friend katie who was just diagnosed with clinical depression and possibly bi polar disorder. ive had to learn to help her and my mom who happens to be bi polar and a manic depressant in order to help me from going insane too.
i really think i have it to. its hereditary for my family, and i also show alot of the same symptons u do... i easily and often get so angry or frustrated that i hit things and i often throw stuff against the wall, and the constant horniness doesnt help me either... my b/f lives a half hour away and i dont see him till the weekends alot of the time, both busy with work and i have school and him college. i someimes cry just from little things building up and it just all comes out, i also have a problem with people who act stupid or immature when i know theyre not, i get highly pissed...
it helps to talk to someone who knows or is goin through what u are just to know ur not alone...

u never knew me, so u'll never forget me...

yes horniness is a major problem for me. Well, not really a problem, just a bother. My bf is in a neighboring state at college. So due to our busy schedules we don't see eachother for months at a time. It's great fun waiting for him to come home. Right now I'm doing full time school stuff usually spend at least 13+ hours a day doing such things. Well I have to go back to school for some more work. Thanks for replying to my message.
