Ive been taking the active pills of Yasmin straight through (no placebo week) for 2 cycles now. This time around (2nd cycle) I started spotting, which turned into a full blown period (very heavy and crampy) and has lasted almost a week now with no slowing down. Usually, my periods on this pill, which Ive been on for about a year now, are without heavy cramps and last 4days, tops. Theres probably nothing I can do and I know that theres the risk of btb on any pill, especially if you skip the placebos. But Im just wondering how long this could go on for, if it misses up my cycle schedule, and if I will not be able to skip the placebo week in teh future...if anyone has experiences like this itd be great to hear about it. Thanks!

This happened to me a few times as well. I wasn't continuously skipping the placebos, I do it on occasion if I am going on vacation or any other reason that I don't want to get my period. When it happened to me, I just stopped taking that pack of pills and started a new one the next week, just to let my body get back to normal. Other times I didn't have any btb. Skipping the placebos just doesn't work for some people I guess.

THanks for your response. Yeah, mine has been heavily flowing for over a week now. Im a little scared. So I dont know what to do to get my body back on track...should I continue taking the pills (thats what Ive been doing) or should I stop until I stop bleeding and then start back up again?

How far into the pack are you? If you are almost done, then I'd keep taking it, but know that you probably won't stop btb until after you get to the placebos. (I am assuming that you are going to take the placebos this time) If you are in the beginning of the new pack, you could stop now, then start again on the scheduled day the next week and allow your body to do what it needs to do. Then go through a couple months of taking them normally (including the placebos) and if you really want to avoid your periods try it again after those few months.
Although I don't always get btb when I skip the placebos, I know my body doesn't like it when I do it. My breasts get sore about a week before I am due and if I skip, they hurt for the entire next month until I get my period again. Also if I am really stressed out when I skip, my hormones go crazy and I get really moody. But, maybe that's just me. Like I said, I don't do it very often. It makes my periods so light that it really isn't that much of a nuisance. Good luck and let me know how it goes!
