Will herpes effect any other part of your body, such as organs? I know that you can break out on other parts of your body. I have had it for 30 yrs. with the mininum of OB. The herpe attacker that gave it to me died last yr. not from herpes. If anyone saw the horrible pics of herpes victims in the earlier years what type of herpes did they have? Their gentials had sore the size of quarters, it looked like something was literally eating them. Thanks

I was doing some research for kidney disease, and did find one article stating a possible connection with that and genital herpes.

I am unaware of herpes affecting a person's organs, but it can weaken a person's immune system since it is an illness, espcially in people who are already immune-compromised or have HIV/AIDS. I personally get VERY sick when I get an outbreak, but my immune system is messed up from adrenal insufficiency, which is unrelated to the fact that I have herpes. I also get VERY painful swollen glands in my lower abdomen, on the right and left side, and the glands in neck swell, too.

It doesn't affect your organs. However you can transfer herpes to you eyes, nose, ears....anywhere there's mucus.
