ive been on birthcontrol for 2 months now and have been taking allesse every day, ontime, and at 9:30 pm. Recently i have talked to a friend who's been on birth contorl for about a year and sees her doctor and gyn. ever since she's been on the pill. She told me that her gyno and doctor said that its best to take the pill in the morning and at night isn't the best because of it not being most effective during the evening when you are most likely to have sex.
And am wondering have any of you heard anything from your gyn. or doctor or a friend?

Never heard of that. The pill only needs to be in your system every 24 hours. I think that is absolutely not true.
Thats what her gyn. told her and doctor have you or others heard otherwise from your doctor or gyn?

The only thing my gyn told me is that I need to pick a time that is convenient for me and take it at that time every day. She never told me that a certain time is better and I have been on the pill for eight years now and had more than one gyn. The pill provides constant round-the-clock protection from pregnancy if you are taking it correctly. I didn't mean that I don't think it is true that her dr told her that I just don't think that her dr. is correct. I don'tknow?

Just because a doctor told her this doesn't make it true. Doctors can be and have been wrong before.
I was on the pill 14 years and took it every night at 9pm and eventually switched to 10pm. I never had a problem with lack of efficacy. And Punkybear is right - all the matters is that you take it at the same time every day, regardless of what time, so you maintain the same hormone level at all times. The only way your friend's doctor could be right is if for some reason your friend wasn't taking the pill at the same time every day.
I think your friend needs a new doctor, actually.
ha yea maybe she does need a new doctor from what everybody and my research is telling me. thanks allot for your input it really helped and i hope it helps other people as well:)
