My IGE count is 1604 :(
what I wanted to ask, if your IGE is high, and it's proven that you've allergies, does it necessarily predicts the severity of your allergies?

My IGE has been as high as 1500---I have had it checked a few other times--it was between 500-800
I asked the same question before and got no response----has anyone else ever had their IGE checked??? It seems like if they had bad allergies it is the first test the doc might due

There is no real point to this test as it doesn't tell you what you are allergic to...only that you are allergic to something. I guess you could use it to rule out a cold or something else but it seems fairly obvious when you have an allergy attack that that is what is happening. Of course, if you don't plan to do anything about your allergies, you wouldn't need to know what things you are specifically allergic to so maybe that's a reason for just this test...though I wouldn't have a test for something I planned to do nothing about.

You`re wrong, high IGE does not necessarily means you have allergies.

I didn't say it always did...just if you are using it to find out if you have allergies, it's not going to be specific as to what allergen affects you. And after all, this is the allergy thread....

I think different places go by different numbers.
My 2 yr old daughters were
IgE-272
normal is between:0-30
