I have posted here before. I am at ends wit. I have been going to PT for 6 weeks now. It seems that the facial tingling has diminished a good bit, but now I am having ear pain, which I had before, but now it seems that the pain is in my lower teeth also. When the Physical therapist does the traction on my neck it relieves alot of the pressure, could it be that it will get worse before it gets better. I do not have cracking or popping in my jaw, but instead have the ear pain, neck and shoulder pain, along with the weird facial feelings. Can a problem with the vertebraes cause this? I getting very scared about what this is. Could it be trigeminal neuralgia even though I had a normal brain MRI? And to top matters off worse, I was rear-ended Saturday, this will make the 3 rear-end collision that I was involved in , the last 10 years. Has anyone tried Lyrica for this? How does it work? I don't want to feel like a zombie. Please, anyone, help with some suggestions and thoughts!!!!!!!

Yes TMJ can have symptoms of facial pain and tingling. It definately sounds like TMJ.

Next, the question is what caused the TMJ. Did you have TMJ before the accidents? Have there been more accidents before these last few? I definately think that back problems could bring about neck or jaw problems.

I think that would be something a specialist would address. Who are you seeing now for TMJ?

ThANKS FOR THE REPLY RAYLP, NO, I NEVER HAD THE PROBLEM BEFORE THE LAST ACCIDENT THAT HAPPENED 8 YEARS AGO, I STARTED GETTING WEIRD HEADACHES, KINDA A BURNING, THROBBING IN THE BACK OF MY HEAD, THEIS ONLY HAPPENEND ON OCCASIONS, 2 YEARS AFTER THE HEADACHES STARTED, I DEVELOPED A TICKLING, BUZZING NEAR MY JAW AND SOMETIMES OUT ON THE CHEEK AREA, THIS HAS BECOME MORE AND MORE OF A PROBLEM OVER THE LAST , SAY, 5 YEARS, ITS NOW THERE EVERDAY, BUT THE EAR PAIN IS THE WORST, IT SEEMS THAT MY JAW WILL START TO TIGHTEN, AND THEN THE BUZZ, OR TINGLING WILL HAPPEN, THIS ONLY LASTS FOR SECONDS, SAME WITH THE EAR PAIN, ITS ALMOST SEEMS LIKE ITS MUSCLE CONTRACTIONS. I WENT TO A DENTIST BEFORE AND HE TOLD ME THAT I DIDN'T HAVE TMJ BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE THE POPPING. I GUESS MAYBE I'LL TRY A NEURODENTIST. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE REPLY.:)

Well it sounds like a spine/neck/jaw issue caused by the accidents. If so, I wonder who addresses that.

Chiropractors, PT, back and spine specialists. What do your x-rays show? Are things really out of whack?

I'd think it would make sense to work on loosening up the tension on the jaw, by relaxing and stretching the muscles in the shoulders, back, spine, etc.

Also nutritional supplements may help. Check out the testimonials for Reliv, particulary the classic. People heal from all kinds of stuff. Stress depletes things alot too. Check out my conservative treatment thread for even more info, such as minerals. I'd try green drinks and or liquid minerals. See even a magnesium deficiency can make muscles tighter.

Also have you had trigger point work done, or tried something like Yoga?

It sounds muscular or nerve related. All it takes is something out of whack in the spine and things can get all tweaked out. After several accidents, you could have some alignment issues.
