 Quick question for you since we same to be in the same boat with our diagnosis. Did you doctor do further imaging to rule out AIS spreading to other areas? I wondered if it was a standard procedure or if I was going to have to ask for it. 72 hours till my appt, I wish I could just stop thinking about this at least for an hour.

Hey,

My gyn did an ultrasound to check the thickness of my uterus, I think...this was done when I went in to get the results of my cone. He wanted to do an ecc, but my cervix was still healing. He said the ultrasound looked good, but I wonder if he would be able to see any adenocarcinoma even if it was there. I guess I don't really understand how a lot of this stuff works.

Finally, I'll be getting my first ecc (since my cone) on Monday! I would totally be lying if I said I wasn't scared. And I often wonder about the possibility of there being more adenocarcinoma even if they don't ever detect it. As much as I want to have children (sooooooo much!), sometimes the idea of getting a hysterectomy sounds nice- knowing that if it IS there, they'll get it out.

I would ask your doctor about the option of further imaging. If you do, please let me know what he/she says.

Good luck with your appointment! My thoughts and prayers are with you. Please keep me posted!!

Katie

Hey ktbee

Thanks for getting back to me so soon! I am definately going to ask for the Chest X-ray and the MRI, I just want to be able to sleep free from worry when this is all over. I want them to lift up every stone so I can feel confident that they got it all!

I will let you know what he says as soon as I get to a computer on Friday so if you want to talk to your doctor about it on Monday you can. I know your afraid about there being more ASI present that they didn't detect that is why I would push for it, it just gives you a sense of reassurance to know they you checked everywhere ya know. Another girl on the site had the MRI and chest X-ray done and she was clear. As long as insurance pays for it, its criminal not to do it!

Maybe my doctor will tell me thats not necessary based on my colpo I don't know, and maybe he does know way better then I, but it can't hurt to ask.

I know what you mean about the hysterectomy, the last couple of days I have felt the same Way!

Thanks for the support-take care of yourself, and I'll say a pray for you too!
