Hi Ladies I was hoping you can help me. I just started my injections last Wednesday and I am confused when they do the u/s what are they looking for. How do I know if everything is going according to the plan w/o asking and feeling stupid. My doctors started me on 150 of follistim, then 300 and now 350. How high can they go?? What should I be listening for when the RE is doing the mearuresemnts of the folliciles? Thanks.

the follicle measurement depends on where you are in the cycle. by the time they do the ER, most REs like to see follicles measure at least 18mm, and I think I read somewhere else that on average they grow 2mm per day (??). I don't know about the follistim doses, b/c I was on a different med (gonal-f + repronex). If your RE increases your dosage, it likely means you need a little extra stim to get you to the 18mm point, but shouldn't be seen as a bad thing. They are closely monitoring you and will adjust your meds accordingly. Isn't it exciting to see them growing, though?? Do you know how many you have in there at this point?

I am on my first run on injections too and the doc is doing the same thing. I was on 150 IUs for the first five days, then I only had two follicles at 7mm. Then he put me on 225 IUs for three days and I went today and had several 8mm follicles on my ovaries and one at 10mm. So now he has me on 300 IUs of Bravelle with 1.5 ml of solution. I start this tomorrow night and stay on it until Saturday morning when I go back in to see him. My estrogen levels went from 81 last Saturday to 122 today also. I am also all confused about everything, but I have put my trust in God to take care of me during this time and pray for the best result!!!

Kingslove thank you. It's nice to know their is someone out there that has just started injections as well. I'm ask them tomorrow when I go if my hormone levels have been increasing and what exactly they are looking at in terms of measurement. I will leave it in god's hands as well.
