Hi

I've just got a copy of my latest bloods from the doctors. I have Crohn's disease so I do struggle with anaemia. I've been querying my B12 levels for the last couple of years but I'm always told they're fine.

I'd really appreciate any thoughts on these results

RBC 4.45 (Range 3.90-5..60)
Hb 11.7 (range 11.5-16.4)
Hct 0.358 (range 0.370-0.470)
Mcv 80 (range 80-100)
Mch 26.3 (range 27.0-32.0)
Ferritin 13 (range 23-300)
B12 136 (range 130-1100)

As you can see my B12 level is very low but still in the normal.

If my B12 was higher would it have an effect on the ferritin levels? I don't really understand the relationship between iron and B12.

Thanks
Rachel

Has someone said there is a relationship? because I have noticed if my iron is low my b12 is good and if my b12 is low my iron is good! Your iron store is very low, I have been deficient this year, only found out because my hair started to fall out and low iron was the cause. I took iron supplements and now I am ok but the b12 has dropped. Weird!
