Hello all! I am new here, my name is Shandi and i am 25 years old. I already have a daughter, Madison who is 2 and we are having a very hard time conceiving #2. I am not ovulatiing and my DH has a low sperm count. Anyone else have problems the 2nd time around?? i am soo upset today. I was taking Chlomid, but it did'nt work, i am being refered to a Fertility specialist, anyone know what the next step might be??

I haven't conceived a child yet but I am going through the exact same thing you are. I also did not ovulate on clomid. Now I'm going to an RE for the first time on Friday.
The next step for you and your husband will probably be lots more testing. I went to a seminar my RE was having and they said that's the first thing they do. Then they will sit down and discuss your options.
Good Luck!!!!

i was seeing my ob who did some blood work and sent dh for a sa.. then they sent him for another.. after that we went to an re in january... who monitored me via tranvaginal u/s for a month, with blood work all the time, made dh do another sa, made me go for an hsg, some special blood test (3 hr blood glucose test) see the specialist in pcos, made dh go to urologist, and i had a hysteroscopy, then finalyl they decided a treatment plan for us.. so now in august (7 mos later) im goint through ivf, but it all depends on how the tests come out, they knew from the beginning that we needed ivf.. aynyway good luck with the re, and i hope ur comfortable with him, they soon will become like ur second home :)

Hi Shandi! Welcome!
I have a 3 year old who was conceived naturally -- but it took us nearly two years. We started TTC not too long after he was born, got preg after 10 months of trying, but unfortunately mc a little after 8 weeks. Anyhow, the reason it takes us so long to conceive is that -- like you -- we have male factor issues. Anyhow, we recently finished 3 rounds of IUI and then I just had my first IVF cycle cancelled bc I wasn't responding well to the protocol. Ugh! We're still trying, though.
Good luck at your RE appointment. My guess is that they'll do or redo any tests they feel they need to -- like blood tests for you, a sonogram for you (which you might not have had before), possibly an HSG (X-ray of your tubes and uterus to make sure your tubes are open), and a SA for DH. After the RE has done the diagnostic testing, he/she will give you all a proposed plan of action! Is your appt going to be sometime soon? Please let us know how it goes, and feel free to ask any questions (there is a lot of knowledge among all of the ladies on this board!) :) I look forward to getting to know you ...

Wanting- even though I'm not going thru infertility treatments now, I wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you. I have a 3.5 year old DS, and took 11 months conceiving him (naturally). This time it's been 2.5 years ttc.
Like what the other ladies have said the RE will have consults, blood tests etc. You can find a wealth of knowledge here and support.
Baby dust to you and all!
