Hi,

For the past year or so i cant seem to unblock my nose, ive tried hayfeaver type sprays and others...they help a little bit, but not much. Once i clear my nose it gets uncomfortable to breathe through it after a couple of hours. Can anyone reccommend anything that i might not have tried?

First have you been to an ENT? The blockage may not be allergic/irritant in origin. You may have a structural issue with your nose that prevents normal sinus drainage. So if you are using allergy medication, steriodal nasal spray, saline nasal spray rinses, and decongestants on a routine (daily) basis and this does not help your congestion... You need to go and see an ENT.

tc, I was blocked up on and off for years and figured that I needed some sort of surgery to correct the problem. About a month ago I tried a neti pot, which was suggested somewhere on these boards, and now I see no reason to even go to the doctor. I haven't even had to use it for about the last two weeks now. In my opinion, one neti pot is just as good as the other. I ran over to Wal Greens and got mine (SinuCleanse). You get packets of saline solution with it. The solution goes in one nostril and out the other, and then you switch sides. Saved me a bundle of money on surgery. Well worth a try.

Thanks for the replies, Ive got some nose drops from my doctor but so far no help. Have to give them time though.

I ahvent been to an ENT, but that may be my next step. Havent heard of neti pot but im about to go and find out what it is :)
