I had all four wisdom teeth extricated a little over 6 weeks ago, everything went fine, I had the usual swelling and pain, but nothing abnormal. All of the sudden, about two days ago I felt a little knot right on the corner of my jaw bone, the next day it was a little bit bigger and became painful to eat. Then yesterday I woke up and the lower left side of my face was twice as swollen and painful as it was after I first got them pulled, I could barely open my mouth. So I went to the doctor and he said it was just an infection so he dug in the back of my mouth to open it back up and gave me more antibiotics saying "the swelling will go down overnight." Well its been over 24 hours and my cheek is still swollen but not so much, now there is just a hard lump right where I felt the first little knot, but now its a whole lot bigger, so I dont think its just an infection, since he was wrong about the swelling he was probably wrong about that too. Anyone have any ideas as to what might be wrong?
