Aeridyne 08-24-2006, 01:39 AM there are two things that i have found recently that have really intersted me.
1 is a book called arthritis free for life. i only found it in ebook form. has anyone ever heard of this book or had any experience with it, or even know if it is legit?
2nd is a product called phosoplex, i saw it with a high rating somewhere (guess i cant say where) but i cant find info about its ingredients, does anyone know if this is any good? I am taking osteo bi-flex right now that i bought at a local drugstore.
which leads me to my next question, i talked to a lady at a health food store and i have read other things that mention glucosamine sulfate. the thing i have is glucosamine HCL, is the sulfate better for joints?
pearlandmary 08-24-2006, 12:08 PM Hi:
I was taking osteo bi flex and it works for me but my husband who is an avid reader of nutriental supplements found a new vitamim that is recommended for arthritis. Its called Joint Advantage Gold [removed]These have the Glucosamine Sulfate that you were asking about. So Im going to give them at least 2 months to see if they are better than the Osteo bi flex.
Hope this helps.

Survivor! 08-25-2006, 07:08 AM Dear Airedyne
I ordered the e-book on-line about a year ago and paid the fee. This 'cure' revolves around massaging peanut oil into the joints three times a day and eating 10-15 'Bing' red cherries per day. There I have just saved you some money!!! Didn't help me but maybe you will have better luck. Was a waste of time and dollars for me.
Hope you are feeling better soon and best of luck

Aeridyne 08-25-2006, 01:26 PM wow, that sounds like a rip, was there anything else the book said to do?
Survivor! 08-28-2006, 04:43 AM Hi Aeridyne
Nope that was pretty much it!! In another book I read that cherries are acid producing and can make arthritis worse, so who do you believe!! I think it helped me a little but it could have been the effects of massaging the joints. Couldn't stick at it as cherries are really expensive here in Northern Ireland. Probably a good idea to include them in your normal diet if you can afford it!! I'll have another look at the e-book and see if there is anything else worth mentioning.
Take care

Aeridyne 08-28-2006, 03:41 PM thankyou survivor, if you find anthing else out i would be happy to know. I have been trying to take a tablespoon of tart cherry juice a day. Also i have been drinking apple cider vinegar with the mother about 2x a day and now i have bought a crap load of herbs that i will be combining into a custom blend. I have seen the herbs in other products and so i got my own and am making it myself. Some of them are alfalfa, horsetail, cats claw, devils claw, celery seed, and more. if anyone is interested in what i am taking at the moment just make a post and i will be happy to share all of what i am doing.
does anyone else have any ideas?
Harry 09-05-2006, 01:44 AM I have used both Glucosamine HCL and Sulfate and the sulfate works best.
I have found that you have to take 1000 mgms -- 3 times daily for this supplement to be helpful.
I use GS-500 put out by Enzymatic Therapy.
God Bless~~~Harry
SusanGene 09-17-2006, 08:23 PM what about glucosamine chondriotin with msm? my knees are really starting to hurt when I climb any steps at all and it scares me. a large percentage of friends have had knee replacements.
my daughter, 37, is in tip top condition, lifts weights, size 4, etc and her knees were aching from pushing up hundreds of lbs with her legs. she now takes 4 gluco/chondroitins a day and after a few weeks the pain disappeared. she loves it. but she's not sixty two either. I want to buy the best brand possible and take as much milligrams as possible.

Hi, did the Joint Advantage Gold work? My mother-in-law is 95 and I thought this product might help her.
Harry 01-30-2008, 12:47 AM I bought some Joint Advantage Gold as a result of this thread and my wife used it and found that it was not as good as Glucosamine sulfate-Chondroitin- w/MSM.
She has never used Osteo bi flex.
My wife had a hip joint replaced in 12/1994 and was told prior to surgery that the other hip was not far behind and she should be wearing a back brace by 3 MD's -- 2 Orthopedic surgeons and our PCP--.
She has taken the Glulcosamine sulfate-Chondroitin sulfate all this time and has never used a back brace or had the other hip joint replaced.
I think the Joint Advantage Gold is over rated and too costly.
