View Full Version : Vision and Auditory weirdness

I'm trying to figure out if these are auras/simple partials or meds related.
Getting these strange flashes of 'light' in my peripheral vision in my left eye. Very sporadic. Usually, it's white and brief, but lately it has been colorful and it dances. I have started up with my sleep deprivations again, unfortunately, and won't go anywhere NEAR the Ambien my neuro. prescribed. hate it, hate it hate it.
Now the auditory stuff. I occasionally "hear" music playing in the distance, or voices. Find myself checking the tv and radios around the house to see if they've been left on. This usually happens just as I'm waking up. Sometimes I hear doors slamming or cabinets slamming shut. And I know my DH has left for work. And I'm quite certain my dog doesn't know how to open and close the cabinet doors! ha ha
Am I losing it or what?
Again, this is mostly as I'm waking up but sometimes it happens during the day now, too.

Lack of sleep, meds, or SPs?
Can't call my neuro. as he is trying to get his family out of Lebanon. (God help him.) I don't even want to bother his partner with my latest EEG results from Aug. 2nd, nevermind ask him if he thinks I'm going crazy. He doesn't even know me.

Oh--I'm on 300mgs. Topamax, 375mgs. Lamictal. Before my neuro. left he instructed me to go up to 425 mgs. of Lammie. But I'm afraid these symptoms will worsen so I have not titrated up.

I have the same probnlem! I was actually just going to ask the same question here today.
Last night, I woke up about an hour and a half after I had fallen asleep because I heard a noise in my room like something heavy fell onto all the crap on my nightstand. Nothing was there besides the normal stuff. And this had happened to me once before-- I was woken from sleep by a noise that sounded like something heavy and glass getting hit and then landing somewhere with a thud in the middle of my floor-- there was nothing heavy and glass in the middle of my floor when I got up and looked around. The first time it happened, I thought it was ghost activity, because call me crazy, but my house has strange goings-on, and it's been witnessed by many different people.
But last night when it happened, I almost wondered if it had something to do with seizures, because both times, it happened when I was waking up. It sounds so real that it makes me jump awake, and I can actually hear the echo in my ear afterwards.
I also wonder if this has to do with the time I was woken up in the middle of the night by what sounded like someone screaming in my ear. My ear was actually ringing when I woke up.
It's good to know I'm not the only one who experiences stuff like this.
