Okay, I am pretty positive I have TMJ. It alllll started after my wisdom tooth extraction (all 4, go figure.) Anyway, I have a few to many of the symptoms. I am going to my dentist for a cleaning the 13th of September, so I'll ask him about it then. I am curious: Is TMJ bad for health? Can it seriously harm a human being, or is it simply just an annoyance to the individual?

My symptoms are as follows: (copied and pasted from the sticky)

- blurring of vision
- "cluster-type" headache
- posterior headaches, back of head, with or without shooting pains
- inability to open the jaw smoothly or evenly (mine feels like it's avoiding obstacles (((goes from side to side)))
- jaw deviates to one side when opening (when fully opened, it points more to the left when looking in mirror)
- looseness and or soreness of back teeth (only soreness, no known looseness)
- clicking, popping jaw joints(only sometimes)
- grating sounds(every time I open)
- ear pain - without infection (only in left ear)
- clogged, stuffy, "itchy" ears, feeling of fullness
- sore throat without infection
- frequent coughing or constant clearing of throat (just recently)
- feeling of foreign object in throat (it feels like theres a piece of plastic on the left side of my throat)
- neck pain

Is it abnormal that nearly all of my symptoms seem to occur on the left side?

Dude, you have to understand that you likely have Lyme, and TMJ is one of many symptoms of Lyme. Did these symptoms arise after the tick bites, or before?

I started noticing them in early August, late July simply because I started getting anxiety again which made me more aware... So after....you got me really nervous man. :( . I also have another health issue that produces some of these symptoms. So I have no idea.

Chill out and read up on the salt-c protocol for Lyme.
