salty 05-16-2003, 11:11 PM Hi. Wondering if anyone is on lithium and lexapro and how you're doing on them? Thank you! Sponsor *Sphinx* 05-23-2003, 01:03 AM I'm on Lexapro. Never have taken Lithium though. Lexapro seems to be a great med so far. I've been on it a little over a month and it's helped me far better than anything else and I've taken lots of things. My only problem is that lately I've been having really bad mood swings and I've heard that it may be the Lexapro because it's an ssri and ssri's and bipolars don't mix well. Hope your results are as good as mine. Just have some nerve pills on hand when you hit a manic episode. If you're like me, you're gonna need 'em. BTW, I'm also taking Klonopin and Trazodone with it. Take care. KC ------------------ -Sometimes I think I'm crazy. I'm crazy oh so crazy. Why am I here? Am I just wasting my time? -I act like sh*t don't phase me, inside it drives me crazy. My insecurities could eat me alive. ~Lyrics from Eminem-Hailie's Song salty 05-23-2003, 03:27 PM Hi, *Sphinx* thank you for writing. Are you on the Klonopin and Trazodone to balance out, or for anxiety and or sleep? I am on a small dose of Xanax for the anxiety but that's going to run out soon and I want my doctor to consider other things for me. How does the Klonopin and Trazodone work for you? The lexapro was added to the lithium because I was depressed again. I stay on the lithium to prevent mood swings, but under extreme stress sometimes the depression surfaces. From what I've heard the SSRI's are fine for bipolar as long as you are on something else to prevent mania or mood swings. Hope to hear back from you. Originally posted by *Sphinx*: I'm on Lexapro.
