View Full Version : Abdomen sore??

I had an IUI on 8/21 (Monday). I had taken Clomid and estrogen, and did HCG trigger to induce ovulation. At my last ultrasound, which was on Sat. 8/19, my right ovary was the most active ovary with follicles of 25, 14 and 11.5mm. I had soreness in the lower right abdomen (just right of midline) that got worse the day of my supposed ovulation day...so I suspected it was my ovary. Problem is, the pain lessened, but has not gone away. Is this normal? I've been on Clomid before a couple times, but this month, my dose was doubled to 100 mg, and I had horrible dryness because of it. Do you think it's possible the Clomid made my ovary so active that it's still sore? I'm just afraid I didn't ovulate or that I have a cyst now or something. It hurts especially when my bladder gets full and it's pressing everything out of the way...it's really starting to worry me. It's not as painful as it was on Monday, but hasn't really lessened since Tuesday at all. What do you all think?? I haven't called my RE, I'm afraid what they'll tell me...lol.

mmmhhh I did IUI with Clomid. I would generate always 2 follicles. But I remember the dr never meassuring them. He will just calculate if I should come the next day or the next one over to do the IUI..... 4 times, never took. I just never liked that Dr anyway. Then I changed.

Anyway, I never had any pain was so ever with IUI and clomid.

Now, after that we did IVF, then they stimulated my ovaries with Follistim. I was so much in pain and so balooned up that I looked like 6 months pregnant. It took about 5 more days after my ET that the pain and big belly started to go down. I guess we are all different.

Hi Heyknack!
I agree with rbettis--every stim is different. With my clomid, I had one month that I almost couldn't get out of bed and go to work, and every move hurt for almost a week after +OPK.
With my IVF, I hyperstimmed and it didn't start hurting until a few days after transfer... Oh, well.
Anyway, go ahead and call your RE--he or she can help A LOT if you are hyperstimmed. And they really need to know how things are going for you.
I hope that the pain goes away by itself anyway! :-)
We'll be thinking of you!

Just an update. Well I called my RE's office this am...the nurse told me the HCG shot SHOULD have triggered my ovulation, but if for some reason it didn't there isn't anything they can do right now about it anyway. Same thing goes if I have a cyst. So she told me to just take Tylenol. I hope/pray I ovulated though, and that my ovary is just sore!! And I'm hopeful that the IUI was successful! We'll see...
