My fiance is bi polar and for three weeks has been taking 1000mg of lithium and depakote. Have not seen earth shattering results yet, about how long do you have to be on it to really feel anything? Should his dose be raised and when? What is a good dosage?

Not being a doctor I can't really say whether the dosage should be changed but I know that he should be in close contact with medical professional while getting his meds stabilized. I also know that I started seeing changes within that time frame on lithium but not all meds work for all people.
