My doctor said that I have chronic Ideopathic Urticaria, which he claims is practicly untestable. However, it was suspected that I was allergic to dairy, based upon information I provided. After taking Zyrtec for two weeks and eliminating dairy, I quit taking the pills a few days ago, and sure enough, no more hives. I have a couple of questions, though. first, is Chronic Ideopathic Urticaria really untestable? Second, if I am allergic to dairy, which I appear to be, can that still be considered Chronic Ideopathic Urticaria?
Thanks everybody for your advice, and good luck.

I am so glad you were able to find what was causing your hives!:)
To answer your question... ideopathinc means something like unknown origin, so if you have found that dairy is what causes it, I would say NO, you do not have at chronic ideopathic urticaria, you have a dairy allergy.
