Thank you. Salty Sponsor msbibe 08-27-2006, 04:07 AM oh man, Salty, I wondered where you'd gotten to. Good to see you. Gosh, Topomax? What's been going on, woman? :) BlueSteam 08-27-2006, 12:43 PM Hi Salty, Topa has sooo many s/e's! When I hit a dose of 150 I had severe anxiety and anger issues. I've also been very depressed lately--maybe the topa has something to do with it. But there is a lot going on in my life to be upset about too. Do talk to your dr about it and see what he says. Good luck. salty 08-28-2006, 02:06 AM msbizz, I wrote you back to your other messages. I'm still here. I have been having a heck of a time going back on Topamax to help my migraines. I started thinking about it and when I first became depressed this last time, I had just started Topamax. I'm just so paranoid now that I wondered if anyone else had become depressed due to the med. For some reason this time, the side effects are preventing me from taking it. I try and then have to stop. It wasn't that way the first time I was on it. I can't seem to get by the side effects...this is my second go round w/Topamax. The first time, I don't remember any side effects (except I was depressed) and wondering if anyone else was too while taking Topamax. I've asked my dr. several times and he says it's VERY UNLIKELY that it will cause depression, but I have read that it can. It really helped my headaches last time...I just can't get past the side effects! Salty Hi Salty, Topa has sooo many s/e's! When I hit a dose of 150 I had severe anxiety and anger issues. It's such a drag, I loved being pain free from the blasted migraines. I have the normal tingles and memory problems and for a bit couldn't even remember how to type! And I used to type 93wpm. Most all of the s/e's went away after the first month, but I have a few that are really getting to me and forcing me to stop. I've got some pretty severe sinus problems going on that has caused awful eye pain, lots of hair loss, and sharp pains that I'm sure are going to be kidney stones. Having a dr that will admit to the s/e's has been half of my battle--you need a doc who is up to date with the med's they are prescribing. I've done my research and it sounds like you've done yours. I knew right away that my anxiety and anger came straight from my topa. I've dropped my dosage by 25mg's the last couple days and I do seem to be a happier person--maybe it's just a coincidence. I just wish it would've worked for me. I wish you luck!! salty 08-28-2006, 05:51 PM Thanks BlueSteam. Believe it or not, I'm splitting a 25 mg. pill in half and taking that at night. I'm just testing to see if it will help my headaches. It seems to so far. I know that dosage seems crazy, but if I take a whole 25 mg., I get bad side effects. My sinuses get clogged, I get a sore throat, I have body aches...it's like I have the flu! Salty salty 08-28-2006, 05:54 PM whoevea, why did your dr. put you on it? With me, whoevea, lexapro either works right away or nothing. But I know others say you need to wait a few weeks. Lexapro is the only AD that has worked for me so I really hope it works for you. Good luck!
