hi...i was looking for some info from real people and not some study on depakote. i'm having some real problems and the 1200 mgs of trileptal just isn't doing it for me, my p'doc had mentioned that if we weren't getting results from it she may switch me to that. i am also on welbutrin 200mgs and 100mgs of trazadone at bedtime, don't know if that helps with any input you can give but i thought i should include it.
thanks for whatever you got and i hope everyone is well.

I take 1000mg a day usually around 3pm and have 100-200-mg seroquel at bedtime. have 1mg klonopin if needed. Depakote is the stabilizer for me, everyone is differentthough. I have actually lost weight for taking this for 2 months, write back any time ,I know I am not very helpful but I tried. I have had no side effects either http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif Rhonda/ I think my dose is a LITTLE lower than it is supposed to be, but it works, I am 5'1" and 122lbs (hoping to be back to 115 the pre zoloft years, ,,,rhonda the fat guina pig poster child for zoloft, too bad, zoloft did work until it made me manic.

Scrags,
My personal experience with taking 1000mg of Depakote a day has included hair falling out (but grows back in after medication levels are normal in your system) and 30-40lbs of weight gain over a 6 month span. My pscyhicatrist has changed me from Depakote to Depakte ER, which is supposed to have less weight gain as a side effect. I have only been taking that for about two months and probably have dropped a couple of pounds.
Hope this helps.
