Hi,
I'm new here and this is my first post!
I've read a little about something called the kindling effect and I was just wanting to know if anyone else has heard about it and what your thoughts might be.. I find the theory a bit frightening myself.

I never heard of this circumstance until you mentioned... I'm still unsure what to think about it... :/

Many thanks for the link!
I'm a Type I and I can tell you that in my case it was only as my manic phases got worse/more psychotic that I was finally correctly diagnosed. There was a definite progression in the severity of the highs & lows between ages 13 & 30 from bummed to catatonic and from energetic to psychotic.
Hate to think where I'd be now if I hadn't gotten stabilized!
