I have been diagnosed with a severe honey allergy.
As a little kid I always felt a little ill after breakfast, but never put two and two together. I suppose the reaction has worsened since then, as more recently I was rushed to hospital after having around a teaspoon of honey in a cocktail and passing out from my airway closing off all together.
I now carry an epi-pen.
I was wondering if anyone else besides me has this allergy, and if they know what it actually is in the honey that causes the allergy - is it the pollens or the royal jelly perhaps? Im scared to go near Royal Jelly as I dont know what it would do to me. Also, has anyone with a honey allergy been stung by a bee before? Ive never been stung so dont know how serious it would be if I were.
