Me and my friend Leslie had it done and we both are very happy.

it was funny because as we were getting ready to go in the prep room, a news crew was there and asked Leslie if they would let them follow her around for 4 days while she was recuperating.

we had so much fun. Let me tell you, I'm glad we have these new ways of staying young. Leslie and I love the attention ;)

I had it done a year ago and am very happy with mine. It is more involved than you are led to believe, very similar to a traditional facelift, incisions, etc. but very effective. You cannot go back to work in 2 or 3 days. I'd say you need to count on being out of commision for at least 7-10 days. It is good for the lower face and neck.

You are given a shot for sedation and are awake, and shots are placed like at the dentist, to numb your face and neck, so you are awake and aware. Takes a little over an hour. You need to sleep reclining for 2 weeks. No bending over, lifting over 10 lbs., turning your head, for 2 weeks. Stitches out around 7-10 days.

I had a bad experience and ended up canceling the surgery. I booked the surgery in July for the day after Thanksgiving at the Dallas location. The office called me the first of November to say they can't do my surgery that day since the Dr. was going on vacation. I had planned this months in advance and planned on taking the following week off since I wanted to be low key about the surgery. To make matters worse, I received a coupon in the mail and I inquired if I could use this and I was told on 9/29/06 that I could bring it in with me. They wanted me to change the surgery to the day before Thanksgiving and then they said they "weren't" going to honor the coupon because I already had a discount. You would have thought in order to keep my business since they canceled my original appointment and ruined my vacation time that they would honor the coupon. But no, they could have cared less. Not only did they lose my business but they lost a friend of mine's business since she was going to book after I had my procedure. I would strongly stay away from this company.

Hi,

I had a really good experience with lifestyle lift. It is a SMAS face lift done under local anaesthesia, so you are awake, which is safer. They do minimal cutting, so its less intrusive and you heal faster. Also, the cost is significantly less than a traditional facelift. I had it done 5 months ago in Dallas. It was a bit painful at first, but by the time the stitches were out after 7 days I was feeling much better (plus the meds helped =). Dr. Orten was really patient with me answering all my questions, and making me feel at ease and confident he was going to do a great job. The results were exactly what I was hoping for.

What's a lifestyle lift?

yes,

I had a lifestyle lift too. I had it done in Ft. Lauderdale. I had Dr christine haugen---she was really nice.

Best of all---I can wear my necklaces now where before I wore high collars and turtle necks to cover up my neck. I had a lot of sagging skin.

I was really impressed. There was a long wait to get in to see her---but it was worth it:)

i had it done in ft. lauderdale---i had a great experience.

i truly look 10 years younger.

you are uncomfortable for a couple of days after but my neighbor had a regular face lift and she was incapacitated for over 3 weeks.

this is much better and it was only around $4,000.

The Lifestyle Lift (LSL) appears to be controversial. I have not had one. I considered the LSL but decided against it after seeing a negative investigative TV report in Philadelphia.

All procedures carry risks and you should do A LOT of homework to get as much information as you can on this procedure to see if it is right for you.

Your are still early post op. Give it a little more time. I hope you can find help for your problem and that you will be satisfied with your results after your heal.

I am considering the lifestyle lift - in FLL, but am concerned about reports involving scarring. Can anyone describe their experience and results after passage of time, 6 months or more?

I had it in Nov. of 2005, and am still very happy with mine. I have no scarring that is visible in front of ears, in the back is a bit more obvious, but the skin right behind the ear is thicker. DH says it's not that noticable, though. Any specific questions?

So, you are advising others to stay away because they had to reschedule your surgery and because they already gave you their discount?

OMG, How Dare They!?!?

I just came from the office in Waltham, MA and I have to say, I didn't like the vibe one bit. (They kept me waiting for 45 minutes and never offered an apology, but hey, who am I?) The "consultant" introduced herself and led me to an office where I watched a very convincing video. The consultant then returned and, in front of a mirror, she showed me what my lift would look like by lifting my cheeks with her fingers. (Okay, how many of us have done this at home or in the car a million times? What does it really tell you about facial surgery? Nothing, really.) She suggested my results might not be that worth it and that I might have more appreciative results with an upper eyelift. (Which is great, because it's almost half the price of the LS Lift) All of that is more or less fine and I appreciated the honesty and not being upsold. Here's what I didn't like. I had questions. This is my face, not a new hairdo. We have all seen bad plastic surgery results and I wanted to be assured that mine would be natural and nothing like that. I want to look like myself, not an artificial version of myself. The "consultant" met these questions somewhat defensively and questioned my "commitment" to having the procedure if I was so "suspicious." Hunh. I sensed her interest waning rapidly when she saw I wasn't desperate to have it done without asking questions. "Translation: "I've got six other live ones in the waiting room, why waste more than five minutes on this one?") Here's the other thing. Of the three women I saw who worked in the office, all of them had falling faces and noticable turkey necks. Why hadn't they gotten the procedure done? I asked the "consultant" if she'd had any facial procedures (She had noticeable excess skin on her neck) and she said she'd had breast augmentation but not the Lifestyle lift. I couldn't figure out a way of pursuing a line of questioning without being rude, so I left it. Now here's another thing. When do I get to meet the doctor? The moment I'm lying on the table? I want to meet him NOW, not later. Wouldn't he want to see me? I've come to see this doctor because he's a board certified plastic surgeon. I couldn't care less about his consultant; What does she know? I left feeling like I'd just walked out of some sort of factory. I've honestly had more in depth and compassionate consultations with hairdressers and automechanics. I am not a whiny high-maintanance person. Based on my initial experience, I would not in a million years have any procedure done by this sort of an outfit, even though, I have to admit, the results on the video appear impressive.

Wow, Mopso; that was the best post I've EVER read on healthboards.com!
I almost felt like I was there with you.
I have been gradually noticing an absence of doctors when you , well, go to see a doctor! They have these "technicians" and "consultants" that see you instead. Why? Because they don't want to waste their time on a cheap office visit when they could be doing OPERATIONS $$$$$. I do not like this trend.
At least there is a dentist here who has a big host of young girls working for him and EVERY SINGLE ONE has the most gorgeous porcelain veneers. He simply believes that if he is a "veneer king" his office should reflect that.
So you go for a filling and you find yourself in a small room watching before and after slides of people with his veneers. Then you get the feeling that if you refuse the veneers you're not "his friend" or something. He has his receptionist, about 55 years old, flashing her pure white porcelain smile
the entire time you're around her. Kind of creepy; I didn't go back. They take off too much tooth to place a veneer but this is a sort of secret

i live in philly during the summer--i went in after I saw a news station followed a lady around for days after she had it done. She looked incredible. So i had mine done over a year ago in ft. lauderdale.

I'm still happy.

By the way, I've just retired from a life in media--and I will be the first to tell you that news stations will make a huge stretch to create controversy during sweeps months to increase ratings and advertising rates.
I actually believe that there is alot behind the scenes here that we don't know about and that lifestyle lift is in a fight with NBC and most likely, NBC is abusing their power and is hiding facts in this case.
