Last week I dressed my 6 week old in a pair of sock with an elastic top. The socks were not too tight but that night when I took them off he had a red, raised ring around his both legs where the top of the sock had touched. It's been 7 days and the rash has remained the same. Red and raised with a very small blister in one area. Could this be a possible Laex allergy? I've been afraid to put socks on him for fear of aggrevating his skin.

it is usually uncommon for infants that young to have allergies, they usually develop later.
i don't understand the sock thing, most socks have elastic in the top, but the elastic is not out, it is covered by fabric, so i don't think it would be a latex allergy. maybe i am misunderstanding you.
my son started about 4 months having eczema. it was red and raised, it could possibly be that, heat usually makes it worse, maybe it was the heat. although i have never heard of an infant that young with eczema.
have you talked to or seen your dr?
i would let him take a look and maybe he could tell you right off what it looks like.
i don't know, i know i wasn't much help, but good luck and hopefully this little guy doen't have allergies.

Hey,

I am allergic to latex and I get problems with socks if I dont turn the tops down so that the elastic doesnt touch my skin. It is possible that your little one has a latex allergy, and it's important that you find out so that it doesnt progress.

Does your little one have anyother medical conditions or have they had a lot of operations?

Do you have any allergies?

good luck,

Cat x
