Hi I went this morning for my normal blood work and u/s and my RE said come back Thursday for IUI. I called my Dh and told him the great news. At noon today one of the nurses from my RE's office called and said that the blood work showed I am going to ovulate and I should go in the bathroom at work and give myself the ovidrel and come in tommorrow for the IUI.

I think it is great that with the help of Follistim injections I am able to Ovulate on my own but should I be worried that ovulation might take place overnight before they do the IUI??

As long as you are going in tomorrow for the IUI, I wouldn't worry. I think the egg can live 6-12 hours, sometimes as long as 24 hours. Everything should be fine. Best of luck!:D

The Ovidrel should not make you ovulate overnight. I believe it makes you ovulate in 24-36 hours AFTER the injection. This is what I was told by my both of my doctors offices. Each time I have had IUI, I give myself the shot and go in a day or day and a half later for IUI - I never have ovulated before IUI except when they didn't give me the shot (because the nurse was an idiot and the doctor was not in the office at the time).

I wouldn't worry about it - just relax and get ready for your big day tomorrow!!! Best of luck to you and DH - sending you prayers and baby dust!

You know what I don't get? If you ovulate between 24 and 36 hours then why am I getting an IUI at 37 hours post hcg shot? I think I already ovulated and I'm going in for my IUI in 10 minutes! I am soo annoyed! Can it still work?? That is kind of a long time.. between 24 and 36 hrs.. that's 12 hrs the egg would be dead! I don't get it. ANyone??
