Id say about 2 months ago i noticed my right ear makes a clicking noise when i swallow. Now this could have been going on for longer and me not notice it but since that 2 month point its been there.
I went to health stop recently to try to get some information on the issue. The doctor told me, there is no infection, and there is no ear wax build up, there is just some blockage in the ear. He proceeded to give me Fluticasone propionate (flonase substitute) and NEOMYCIN AND POLYMYXIN B SULFATES AND HYDROCORTISONE OTIC SUSPENSION, USP (i see no name, thats whats on the label, ear drops.)

I started taking this medicine and after a few days, my ear started to hurt, got really itchy, and was almost muffled hours after application. By the 5-6 day it was at its worst, since then (day 7) the pain it caused has gone away but its still itchy. Basically, im back to step one, ear still clicks and the pain it caused is gone. I can only continue the ear drops for 10 days and it says not to exceed that.

Basically, what can my problem be if theres no signs of an ear infection, ive never taking anything to kill a prior ear infection, and the only symtom is a crack in the ear when swallowing? But now after medication my right ear is muffled also, (medication may still be in ear causeing the effect)

Hi,
i have ear clicking when swallowing in both ears all the time:blob_fire !!!
It's been going on for a long time and the doctor said it is probably due to acid reflux and my ear drum being retracted?? there is fluid build up in the eustacian (sp) tubes and that is most likely causing that annoying clicking. I can't seem to get rid of it. I've tried Clariton and it made me dizzy and acid reflux meds don't work for me, so I've tried using olive oil in my ear which helped a little, but by and large I'm just living with it.
Maybe you will have better luck in getting to the root of yours and solving the problem but just wanted to let you know that you are not alone, sorry I don't have any answers:yawn:

the bad thing isnt that you dont have the answers, the bad thing is that the doctors dont have the answers, and they charge you hundreds. Doctors and weathermen are the only people allowed to suck at there job :D
