Found out today that since Clomid/met alone didn't work for me...my next cycle i will be starting the HCG shot with Clomid.

I didn't ovulate with clomid/met...

Anyone ovulate successfully with clomid and HCG shots or didn't ovulate with HCG shot and Clomid? How much clomid did you start with the HCG shot?

Also.... what kind of U/S do they do to check for follicules? How often do you go in for U/S's? And what Cycle days do you go in for U/S's?

Thanks!!!!

Hi Ariel!
The ultrasounds are to see how many follicles you have on your ovaries, how thick your uterine lining is, and usually with your first u/s they will also check to make sure no other abnormalities. The ultrasounds are internal, they insert the probe into your vagina to check because it gives them a better picture. But it really doesn't hurt. For me, the ultrasounds were on cycle days 3 and 10 and then whenever they want you to come in after that depending on how big your follicles are, etc. So I had to come in on day 12, then I had my trigger that evening (and I had IUI 2 days later).
Good luck, hope all goes well!! :)

Hi Ariel,
Just wanted to give you some answers and maybe a little bit of hope. I was taking Metformin for three years, and then with Clomid for about a year before I went to my RE. He also suggested that we try the Metformin/Clomid/Hcg Trigger shot combination.

The first cycle didn't work, but I did get pregnant on the second month! I am now 17 weeks and everything is going fine. It's all due to that HCG trigger shot!!!!

I had to go in starting on day 3 of my cycle for the u/s to check to for any cysts. If all looked good, then I started the Clomid that day and went back for another u/s on around day 10 to look at the follicles. Sometimes I had to go back 2 days later before they told me to take the shot. It was a little demanding with work and all, but I can say that it was worth it in the end.

I wish you the best of luck!

~D~
