I have Anxiety Disorder. Does anyone else have the occasional fluttering sensation (palpitations?) in your chest along with your anxiety? I have it occasionally, and I seem to notice it more when I am lying down. Does anyone know why that is?

Based ontaking my pulse when it happens (very hit or miss), it seems to be an extra heartbeat. Any thoughts?

Yep, I have this. Sometimes it can be very disconcerting. Many people notice them more when they're lying down or in certain positions (like bending over).

Porbably some PVC's (Premature Ventricular Contraction's).Look that up on the web for info.I have them too sometime's every night for week's and then barely any for month's.Most of the time they are nothing to get worked up about and not heart damaging.Maybe read about this and if you are still concerned have your doctor check it out.Anxiety and stress will trigger them amoung other thing's.

SoccerDad,

I had that feeling quite a bit in my early 30's. I am now 40. At the time, my doctor told me the "heart flutter" was very common in people in there late 20's, into their 30's, and it was normal. I know it so well, and I had it before the anxiety started. If you have any other symptoms that worry you, talk to your doc anyway. That's what they are there for.

I hope you feel better.

Lisa

I have this quite often and have for about 10 years now. It can be very scary. I notice it more when laying down too. I noticed that if I lay on my left side flat then it gets better. I had tests done at one point and they said I had some "normal sinus tachycardia" which basically showed that I have a normal heartbeat but it is fast at times due to anxiety. I take klonopin 0.5mg as needed and it seems to help.
