For the past few weeks I have had what I think is some kind of anxiety problem. At random times throughout the day (most often times when I'm trying to sleep) my heart will suddenly start to hurt and sometimes begins beating rapidly. My muscles are often tense (mostly in the shoulder or lower back area). I've also been getting headaches which I think are from loss of sleep. I'm recovering from an eating disorder, so for a while I thought that my heart pains had something to do with that... but this is more of a stress/extreme anxiety feeling. It's depressing me because when I feel this way I feel like I can't accomplish anything. Today I wanted to study and run errands but I ended up just lying down on my sofa crying cause I couldn't stand this constant feeling of stress. I honestly can't even pin point what I'm stressed about. I think I just can't seem to organize thoughts in my mind... I'm always worried I'm not doing enough or being productive enough. I'm so exhausted and I want to rest so bad but I just can't. This morning I woke up with severe heart pain and cramping all throughout my abdominal area. And throughout the day I've had to keep taking deep breaths. What the heck is wrong with me and what can I do to stop all this? It's really getting in the way of everyday life. Please help :(

I'm so sorry you are feeling so bad. I can relate. Is there something going on that is making you extra stressed right now? Try taking a nice bath or shower and then pick one thing you need to get done and do just that. You'll feel better if you accomplish something. If your stomach hurts, try taking antacid like Zantac. Sometimes that makes my stomach and my chest pain go away. Also, try calling a friend or relative that makes you laugh. It really helps to get yourself out of your own head and laughter produces the emotional feel-good hormones that also help relieve pain.

I know how you feel...I've been there many times. I do have Xanax to take when nothing else works, so maybe you could see a doctor for some anti-anxiety medicine. I hope you feel better :)

The more you fight anxiety, the worse it will get.

You have to accept it, feel it and then let it go.

Otherwise you can work yourself up into a really bad state.

Picture it like an ocean wave, when it first starts coming it will feel big, but just ride the wave and it will eventually dissipate.

First of all I want to state do not let it control your life or it will just get worse. Personally I believe if you don't let in to it right now (since you have only had in a few weeks) you won't continue having them or just have them rarely. - I speak from personal experience

Many people go monthes or even years just dwelling on the anxiety and not leaving home which obviously seems like the right thing to do but in return it can make the anxiety attacks (atleast seem) worse and take longer to help get rid of.

One thing that might help is going to the doctor and making sure nothing else is wrong. That seemed to greatly help me be able to slowly get back to my normal routine of the day. If healthy enough I reccomend strongly to start exercising that alone has done wonders for me even if it is as simple as walking 10-30 minutes a day.

Also you mentioned not doing errands well one suggestion I can give is find someone you trust to do it with and if you don't feel comfortable driving for now hey atleast you go and get the errands done and slowly realize that the anxiety can't hold you back!
