Im all over these boards I swear :(

I got an appt with a Rheumy for my hip pains this gets worse with my cycles, and burning above one buttock. Also my palms of my hands have been bright red as long as I can remember, put the last 2yrs when it gets humid they HURT and burn...cant close my hands.

other symptoms, stiff and hurt all over in the morning, I wake up exhausted, hair loss, off balance, feeling flu like, sometimes wrists and ankles hurt. I also have this weird BMS (burning mouth syndrome) sometimes my tongue on one side burns or it will feel cut/or like there is an ulcer there but Ive been to many dentist who did thourough oral exams and find ZERO.

Now I was diagnosed with Fibro, and the pain has increased and when I called MY dr., they said you will be better off with a rheumy and gave me their #. She said they will probably take xrays of my hips and do Lupus test.

Now they did one a few years back and it came back fine.

My sister knew a friend that had lupus and she asked me if I was ever tested, this was out of the blue.

Does this sound like lupus? I have never had any rashes.

Hope

Hi, Hope. Not being a dr., I can't of course guess whether you may have lupus. But honestly? In your shoes, I'd want certain of the autoimmunes to be considered as possibilities (like lupus, RA, scleroderma, etc.)

While certain rashes are common in lupus, not everyone with gets them. Dr. Daniel Wallace writes in his hardcover that 60 to 70 percent have some sort of skin problems. (FYI, another excellent rheumie/author is Dr. Robert Lahita. Books by both these authors are in most libraries & larger bookstores.)

Could the burning above one buttock you describe be sciatica? I had this on & off for years, one side only, and it ALONE was enough to make me despair. So painful & can't find a comfortable position.

I hope you post again soon. Meanwhile, best wishes & good luck! from Vee

Hi Vee,

The burning pain my well be sciatic, I have pulled my back out twice, couple years back. The hips started about 6yrs ago.

I also have muscle twitches (had them for 9yrs not all the time),hand/feet/scalp tingles, legs have had creepy crawlies, my hands shake (not violent, if I hold them out straight it looks like I'm nervous...like unsteady) had this for awhile to and it too comes and goes.

Ive talked to Dr's about this and they treat me for anxiety. I am an anxious person, and have a VERY easy startle response. But they never did any test besides blood.

My sister has raynauds, brother has arthritis. They say I have fibro, at this point I just want relief...

My rheumy appt isn't until October though :(

Thanks for replying

Hi, Hope, I had those creepy-crawlies, too. VERY disconcerting. Enough to make ANYONE nervous! I was anemic, too, & I still don't know whether lupus or the "companion" anemia was the prime cause of the "creepies". Anyway, may October roll around quickly for you. Hang in there! Vee

Im pretty sure I have. I'm pretty sure I had RA test (RH factor) and lupus.
This was like 3 years ago.

I also hear your thyroid can be OFF but still be in the Normal range. What is normal for one may not be normal for others.

Hope
