hello,
I am having a problem lately. I have been under a lot of stress, and I have always had a bit of anxiety every now and then, but lately it has gotten ridiculous. If it is even anxiety. Anyway, for example, I was sitting in the car as we were driving home. I was in the back seat and we were about three hours from home. It was dark and I was watching the lights as we were driving. Also we kept driving over bumpy parts of the road. And I kept getting what felt like panic attacks, and that if the lights didn't stop flashing by and the road didn't smooth out, I was going to scream. For some reason repetitiveness has been making me feel this way. Another example is if I hear the same sound on the tv over and over, or if my daughter is running around in circles. Does anyone have any idea what the heck this thing is?
Thanks.

I know with my ADHD, I can hear little noises "someone clicking their pen, non stop", or something rattling in my back seat...and it drives me crazy.
Do you feel like you just focus on the annoying thing, and loose focus or are you feeling tight inside your chest, and the "I have to get out of here, now"?

Jessejomama, it's like we're twins. I was coming home with my dad yesterday on a four hour car ride. He was driving in the right lane, where all the sewers were. I told him that the bumps were annoying. He ignored me. My hand was literally on the door handle ready to jump out. I almost punched my dad it was so annoying. I think when we are anxious we are more aware of things and become very irritable. I too get annoyed when somebody clicks their pen, taps there foot, shakes their leg when Im trying to watch tv, paces on the phone, or breathes too loud. I have no idea why.

I feel like I can't not focus on the "thing", for example, I had a hard time looking away from the lights, but that and the bumps on the road made my stomach queasy and I felt like my brain was going to explode.

Everytime that the car stopped at a red light, I felt like jumping out of the car and running around. The past couple of weeks have been really difficult for me, and since then, this weird anxiety thing has gotten worse. If that is what it is. I am assuming thats what it is.

Have you considered seeing a doctor? To rule out other things? Stress can be hard on people and do funny things. Another consideration, seeing a therapist for counseling.
