Hello,
Could anyone please tell me their experience on Neurontin. I have been prescribed 100mg at night for anxiety, depression and I think cyclothymia. I took it for 3 days and my feet and hands were puffy and I was very forgetful. Any input is greatly appreciated. I also am fearful of the reaction of seizures with this med.
Thankd

I have been on Neurontin now, for over four months! I think it was a GOD SEND! I was on every kind of antidepressants, that made me worse, then on Mood Stabilizers, that made me fat, and the Neurontin I take seems to relax me more than the others!
I take 300mg 3 times a day, and 600mg before bedtime. But, I started out low and was raised. I know people on a MUCH HIGHER DOSAGE then I am on! It is according to your chemistry!
I also take 2mg of Clonazepam for my Panic Attacks, .2mg of Clonodine, for sleep, and Ambien, 10-15mg if needed, for sleep!
I have Bipolar Two Disorder, Mitral Valve Prolapse, General Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Sleeping Disorder (They say I have mild sleep apnea that should go away after I loose the weight being on Depakote, and take the computer, TV out of my bedroom, and get rid of all my stress, Like that is possible with a child with ADHD/possibly Bipolar, also!
So, if the med is not working for you, contact your doc, and they should be able to up it for you, or if you need to, find another medication! I just know Neurontin works for me, and it has been a long time finding something that works, without running out of different medications! I know it is frustrating, but hang in there, we all know there is light at the end of the tunnels we walk in, daily!
Let us know how you are doing! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

The side affects I get, and it isn't all the time is.........sleepiness, forgetfullness, and I do get dizzy when my meds are upped for the first couple of days! It actually feels good! LOL!!
I don't know about the bloating, but if it is hot and humid, you do need to eat some sodium and drink lots of water. That helps with the sweating process! Some medications takes the sodium away from you, so Water or Gatorade is needed! PLus just have some crackers with cheese, best things for relaxing too!
Best of Luck!
