Hello,
Could anyone please tell me their experience on Neurontin. I have been prescribed 100mg at night for anxiety, depression and I think cyclothymia. I took it for 3 days and my feet and hands were puffy and I was very forgetful. Any input is greatly appreciated. I also am fearful of the reaction of seizures with this med.

Thanks
Byrdleg

SO SORRY FOR THE DUPLICATE POST. IT told me it was to busy and to try again and I did OOPS!!!

I am not going to be a lot of help here but figured at least you would get an answer from someone <smile>. I was on Neurontin for a while. The half life is so short that I had to take it during the day. My biggest side effect was that if I forgot to take it with food (and forgetting is one of the things I do best) I would soon be functioning like I had just finished a bottle of whiskey. It was terrible. I eventually switched meds because of this. I don't know how many times I was driving to work, swerving all over the road wondering what the hell was going on until it clicked--the meds again! I had to switch.

Sorry this isn't much help. Anyone else out there have some info?

I was taking it because Prozac and other meds either didn't seem to be helping with depression or the side effects were bad enough that I quit taking the meds. I think I was just on 100 mg in the mornings. I think I tried it for about 2 weeks before I gave it up. I had a couple of incidents of driving to work like a drunk idiot without realizing it until it was too late. And then one day I was bumbling around work. Literally almost falling over like I was drunk. Even felt like I was drunk. I couldn't figure out what was going on until it clicked that I had taken the Neurontin again lol. So there was no way I was going to be able to function and continue to take that. But I have heard from several people that is has done wonders for them. Different things work for different people. And feel free to ask any questions you like http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
