Hi All. Hope everyone is having a good day!:D This may be a dumb question. What does nerve pain feel like? And could the nerves healing cause pain?? I have this pain in my rt arm, feels like it's deep in the bone. NS says this will go away with time as I heal. Everything else seems to slowly be improving. And I mean S-L-O-W-L-Y! Weakness is about gone. My rt leg still gets tired if I'm on it a long time. I also still have to take 1/2 - 1 pain pill a day (Vicodin 5/500) Is this about normal? I'm 7 1/2 weeks post op posterior cervical spine laminectomy to remove bone causing compression. No fusion. Have a great day everyone! My prayers are with you all!!

I think the way you have described your pain sounds like nerve pain to me. I am glad to hear things are slowly improving and hopefully they will continue to do so. When your nerves are healing it can cause pain, but as long as you feel you are improving this too should get better.
Hope this helps you!

Nerve pain does feel like it is a bone ache. That is how I used to describe it to my doctors like the bone hurt. I have nerve issues and one thing I have had for over 18 months is the icy hot feeling in my left arm. Sometimes it feels like it is in a freezer and then taken out and others it has that tingly icy hot feeling. I usually have it from the shoulder to the wrist. Also nerve pain is like lidacain (sp) when they put it in your veins before being knocked out. I also get a dirty dusty feeling in my head like being in a dirty dusty warehouse.

Sometimes it goes away. I was told by my PM that the brain has a memory and sometimes it just remembers the pain especially if it was a long term issue (mine was 18 post surgery) and it continues to send out the signal to the receptors thus pain remains and may never go away hence the PM. I have been 6 months and still have it. Some days or weeks are better then others. I am currently on Lyrica to see if tha that helps.
