Hello hersheys, Are you sure these are the correct numbers? I think you should double check. With numbers like these, or anything near, nobody could really give you proper advice unless they are highly qualified and specialised in this field. Triglycerides can be brought down by cutting out refined carbohydrates, sugar, fizzy drinks etc. Obvious things like a healthy diet using extra vigin oils. Stay well clear of hydrogenated vegtable oils that you can find in a lot of things from cookies, margarines to ice cream. Just eat fresh food that has not been processed in any way or form. These things will help, but it should only be as a step in the right direction together with a specialists medication.

Hersheys,
Help me with the time frame.
Was the 3000/800 BEFORE the Tricor and the 1600/400 AFTER?
Or, I hope, was the Tricor started AFTER the 1600/400 readings and you don;t have the after numbers yet?
If the lattter is the case, give it 30 days and get her retested to see what the Tricor is doing. Tricor is a drug that is geared specifically for super-high triglycerides. With numbers that hight, she may need Tricor AND a statin.
Does she have diabetes? Is she obese?

Alcohol use can also cause +trigs. Mine went from 1400 down to 210 when I reduced my alcohol intake. I was also on Tricor during that perion and am now on Lopid

the following supplements are touted to have the effects of 20 mg of Lipitor and are all natural: there is a book [removed] dedicated to this regimen
besides these I have added garlic oil and cinnamon oil I bought on ebay- cinnamon really lowers the triglycerides- sprinkle cinnamon on oatmeal for a healthy breakfast
1 81 mg buffered aspirin
100-150 CoQ10- more to start with if you deem it necessary is okay and should be taken in adjunct to any statin therapy as statins reduce CoQ10 and the heart needs it to function
400 mg of Omega 3 fish oil
L Carnitine- mg is your choice- I take 400
Vitamin B complex with folic acid
vitamin E
Good luck
