i quit a few days before my surgery on the 28th of august. did anyone smoke after there surgery???

I smoked after the surgery. My doctor did not tell me that it could cause healing problems. I didn't have any healing problems and healed up just fine but may just got lucky.

I was an on/off smoker for a long time before the surgery. But at the advice of my surgeon, and after reading about some of the studies done showing how smoking could inhibit bone growth, I was 'motivated' enough to quit before the surgery. Better for my overall health anyway, right?
