I have had sinus problems eversince I can remember. A few years ago, I developed GERD. Now I have extreme bloating and throat tightness which makes it difficult to take a deep breath. I think I may have a wheat allergy. I was wondering what the common symptoms are with this condition, and how long it takes to feel better?

All that post nasal drip can cause GERD because it is so irritating for your stomach. Have you ever been allergy tested? Maybe you should be and then you can avoid your triggers, treat your allergies, have your sinuses feel better and maybe stop your GERD. Throat tightness does not sound good! Have you gone to the doctor? Especially if it is difficult to breathe.

i used to experience the throat tightness from time to time. sometimes it would wake me out of my sleep, so i know i was not imagining things.

i found out via food allergy testing (elisa) that i am very allergic to a few things. however, my reactions are delayed (IgA) so it was hard to pinpoint them myself, so i needed the test; it was about $175 and tested me for about 100 different foods.

i've only eliminated these trigger foods for about 1 week, and i feel fantastic! i have a less stuffy nose, less pnd, and hardly any bloating. I feel like a new person.

it is really worth it and u may be able to cut down on any meds.

my natureopath wants me to follow this strictly for 6 mo, then i may get retested to see if she can reintroduce some foods. But whey, dairy and caffeine, which were my high triggers, arent so healthy anyway so i can live w/o I guess.

Good Luck!
