I'm just interested to know if anybody has found that with their anxiety, they are more sensitive to noticing any lumps and bumps on their body or certain aches or pains. Then worrying that it is something way more serious than what it probably is? This in turn usually produces a mild attack from the worry.

oh yea...actually before I started zoloft, I was really like that. My mom used to tell me I was just too hypersensitive to my body. I noticed everything that "normal" people normally disregard and blew it out of proportion. I think it is a pretty common symptom of anxiety. It's good that you're aware of it.

yeah, it happens to me too, I once convinced myself I had MS. I thought I had heart defects, brain tumors, and several other diseases.

very very true. You may have felt so many different symtoms in your body prior to your experience with anxiety. But anxiety makes you scan your body 24/7 and all ways look at the slightest things and blow them out of proportion. Anxiety makes us nervous and scared and makes us assume the worst also. Think that the glass is always 1/2 full and not empty.

I ubderstand what you are saying. I started getting anxiety attacks in late spring, about a month after having an anal fissure operated on. Even though my doc said it was a bad one and would take a while to heal, I convinced myself I have colon or rectal cancer when I started noticing some blood in my stool. Every little nagging ache or bump does make you think something is wrong.
I just switched family doctors, and the new one is very thorough with testing, which is nice because he's proving to me that I am generally pretty healthy.
