Hi all,
Its been a little over 2 weeks since my surgery and I just noticed a bump in my throat just below and left to my wisdom tooth on the right side of my mouth. It looks too big (height. not width) to be a blister, but maybe that's what it is.It almost looks like a wart... Has anyone else experienced this before? Do you know what it is and if its cause for alarm?
Thanks!

I have a similiar one as well, I am guessing its scar tissue from the tonsilectomy. It isn't bleeding so at this point I am not too worried.
My doctor did look at my throat and didn't make any comment when she saw it, so I am thinking its not life threatening.
Have you had your post-op checkup since your surgery?

I have and it wasn't there at that time. I think I will call tomorrow and ask... just to make sure.

Hey LorieR, today is Day 11 and I woke coughing and in a lot more pain than yesterday. I noticed that I still have a fair amount of scabs on my tonsil areas and throat...although today there is a few less than the the other day. Overall I think the de-scabbing is going slower than most who have posted their Day 11 results.
Is the additional day of pain normal? This goes to what everyone says, one day you feel much better and then next you feel a lot worse...the process is killing me. :(

SD - I am amazed that this happened to you because the exact same thing happened to me today (day 10). I slept mostly through the night and awoke abruptly at 6am because I was coughing/choking - more choking. I was in a LOT more pain than yesterday and figured it was because some scabs came off during the night and I wasn't able to drink water while sleeping (obviously!). Once I took some meds and drank some water the pain subsided to yesterday's levels. Scabs are really coming off well though.

That is normal. Im on day 17 I think.. maybe 18... dont feel like counting right now. hahah
Anyway.. I STILL have pain in the mornings and nights and I have to take really small bites and chew them good to eat normal food. I still had intense pain at day 12-14 when my mouth got dry. All of my scabs are not gone at this point, but most of them are. Im probably about 95% resurfaced.

Wow Day 17? Have you been back to work since? I am trying to go back tomorrow on Day 12. But since I have a desk job I am going to try to take it easy if possibly. I was so hoping Day 12 - 14 was smooth sailing but it sounds like it is more of the same, feel better...then you feel worse. Two steps forward and one step back.
*sigh* Yeah Metatheory, that is odd we both had the same situation. I think the pain now is mostly where the fresh skin is exposed to the new air...and that is why it went from bad to worse...as far as pain goes.
LorieR, any word on those bumps? Now you got me curious.

Any word on that bump? I see a few more in my throat. They look like little blisters, bright and shiny...almost like they have clear liquid in them...
Kinda spooky.
