Anyone had side effects from taking cinnamon supplements (pills)? Thanks.

I haven't taken cinnamon supplements but after putting the regular cinnamon spice on my oatmeal every morning for 2+ months I started developing heartburn. After stopping the cinnamon the heartburn went away.

vipergg22, how much do you take? How long did it take to lower cholesterol?

Hi BamaC
I'm NOT vipergg22 but I also take Cinnamon. I have NOT had any luck in lowering my cholesterol with Cinnamon but I have EXCELLENT luck in controlling my diabetes with it.
3 times a day:
2-500mg capsules when I wake, then another
2 capsules after lunch and again
2 capsules before bed
I also eat 1/2 cup of steel cut oatmeal in the morning and add cinnamon spice on that plus I add cinnamon spice on anything else I can.
I found the capsules to be better totaled then the tablet form.
Cinnamon doesn't work for everyone but if it works for you - you should start to see a difference in about 6 weeks on 'constant' use.
BTW: Welcome and glad you made it down the forum :blob_fire

Thanks, PollyAnn. I just ordered some. My blood sugar, which has always been normal, jumped 25 points on my last lab work. Pretty sure it was due to the Dr. Pepper I drank just before my appt. At least, I hope it was. We'll see.
