I had my tonsills removed on the 29th of june this year. its been 9 days AND I WANT A CIGARETTE!!!!! ahhh. lol. when is it ok for me to smoke again?? and at what point can i go do normal stuff? Cause i feel fine. im in minor pain and only taking a few tylenol every once and a while for mild discomfort. i had a small bit of bleeding on about day 3 or 4. but it went away quickly and was no biggie. The point is: i feel fine, im not on pain meds anymore, and not really in pain. when can i smoke a cigarette again?
**PS- PLEASE respect my concious choice to smoke and not quit. i want answers not critisism for being a smoker.
Thanks soo much.

I'm going to guess you meant August 29th if it's been 9 days. :)
Call your doctor and ask if you're dying for one.
I also had mine out on the 29th and I can't imagine smoking yet, even though I don't even smoke. It hurt to suck on a straw, let alone a cigarette.

With how painful my recovery was, I kept thinking to myself that I never want another cigarette again for as long as I live. Because the thought of smoking after being in so much excruciating pain was just too much for me, so I never felt like I ever wanted one. And the craving never has come back since then, so I'm pretty excited about that. :)
Anyway, you should know that your potential for bleeding exists up until day 15, so if you want to be safe and make sure that you don't screw up anything with your recovery, I'd wait until day 16 just to be sure. But if you're really jonesing, you could just call your doctor and ask. But just be prepared for the "you should quit smoking" lecture, because doctors often try to encourage any and all of their patients to quit.
