Hi the pdoc just put me on 25 mg of seroquel twice a day. Along with effexor xr 75 mg a day and Klonopin twice a day.5 in the mornings and twice that at night.

I was just wondering if any of yall are on the seroquel and if its helped in anyway.

Do the meds sound right to yall?

Hi there, my mother is also on seroquel, effexor, and klonapin. She is in the middle of a nervous breakdown. These meds. tend to make her not have to think about everything as much. The effexor is for her Bi-Polar, but that is a life saver(cont. to take that). Try to others, but don't abuse them and don't use them when you think you need them, only use them when you are told.

if you ever stop taking seroquel be VERY VERY CAREFUL, the most physical torment i have ever experienced was b/c of seroquel. i was on 400 mg/day and my doctor just told me to stop. cold turkey. all at once. from 400 to zero. it was so horrible i got sick the first day and for the next--2 weeks i think it was--i couldnt move from the couch. i ate graham crackers, maybe a handfull a day and that was it. and ginger ale. and it took me 1/2 an hour to get the strength to get up and go to the bathroom. when i did i was so so dizzy i felt like i was gonna collapse at any given moment... so remember to taper when your done taking it so you wont go thru what i did.

Kar546, Seroquel was the best thing that ever happened to me I was having audio and visual hallucinations along with phycotic episodes and seroquel helped alot I am on 150mg a day with 4mg of klonipin, prozac and lithium a day.

I just recently started taking seroquel in addidtion to my paxil. I am up to 400mg/day. It really dazed me at first but I think my body is getting used to it. I take the majority of my dose at night. I have noticed that my appetite is almost gone, which my doctor said was strange because it usually makes people gain weight. I am also trying to get pregnant and don't want to have to stop taking the seroquel because it is the first time ever that I have been so at ease with everything.

I started taking Seroquel to help agitation in theevenings but now I take it to cure insomnia . I'm not convinced it has done anything to help with the 'psychosis' but it certainly puts me to sleep. If I need to calm down (in states such as a panic attack) I take Lamictal instead.

seroquel saved my life. ssri's made me literally insane. i finally got a correct dx of BPII and now i take only 100mg seroquel spaced out in 25mg doses throughout the day, augmented ny xanax as needed. i'm struggling with serious premenstrual drpression, but i hope to be able to cope with those few really bad days without taking a mood stabilizer.

Seroquel gave me epilepsy, and started TD. my TD is better, until I went on Depakote and now its worse. It works for some and not for others.
I urge if your starting to take it, if you feel confused (I felt like I was tripping without the visuals) to talk to your doctor. Once I went up to 75 mg twice dailey, it all went horrible for me.
Antipsycotics are a hit or miss deal, so its not a miracle drug at all, rather just a solution for a percentage of people.
