View Full Version : Federal programs for those who do not qualify for SSI or Medicaid?

Does anyone know of any programs that may help pay for medical expenses for our 2 year old daughter who has CP? She will be having surgery next month, and will have intense physical therapy for at least the next year. Our insurance covers only a small portion of the number of visits she'll need, so we are trying to figure out how to pay for the rest.

We do not qualify for SSI or Medicaid because our family income level is above the qualification limit. It appears as though there are no state programs (we live in NC) that can help either. I just want to make sure we've exhausted all possible resources.

Thanks!

Check with your state DSHS or DDD -Department of Developmental Disabilities office. Our son has the medical coupon. They do not look at our income, they look at his which is zero. He has a lot of medical issues and it helps so much, there is no way we could cover his medications without it.

Also check with your hospital social worker to see if they have programs or know of any available to help.

Good LucK
