Appreciate the advice of any of you veterans...
Insomnia, warm, sweaty, pulse racing, irritable, and uncontrollable crying jags.
I am still on the pill, cant get in to my m.d. for 10 days or so. I thought being on the pill masked some of these menopause symptoms. How long does this all last. I hate subjecting my family and coworkers to all this.

I can definitely sympathsize with how you are feeling. It's been four years since I began experiencing peri symptoms and I'm just now getting to the stage, with the help of hormones and supplements, where I have some days of "normalcy."
It's good that you are going to see your doctor; have you had tests done to rule out other possibilities? My doctor also prescribed bcp, but they did not eliminate my symptoms. They made them tolerable so that I could get off the sofa and return to work. We are all so unique and unfortunately there isn't a "one size fits all" remedy for peri/meno.
Keep us posted on what your doctor suggest, and I hope you find relief soon. :)
