A couple of years ago I had cataract surgery. Now I notice the left eye is a bit cloudy and the color is not as bright as the other eye.

Has anyone had the YAG laser procedure for cloudy vision and vision that is not as colorful? I have read quite a bit about the cloudy vision after the cataract surgery, but I am also wondering if the procedure will help with the dull color vision in the left eye. I appreciate hearing from anyone.

The purpose of a laser capsulotomy is to remove a PCO.(Posterior capsule opacification )This procedure dramatically improves visual acuity and contrast sensitivity and decreases glare. The visual acuity before capsulotomy can be as poor as 20/400, but barring any other visual or ophthalmologic conditions, the patient will see as well after a laser posterior capsulotomy as after removal of the original cataract. Laser capsulotomies are usually performed once a patient's vision is 20/30.

In most cases, contrast sensitivty may refur to "color inhansment". Although, color "improvement" is not mentioned as a result of the removal of the PCO.
