Was diagnosed with osteoporosis about 1 month ago. spine at -3 hips okay.Experienced a dull pain in back suddenly about two weeks ago, it hurt to walk. Went away after a day or so. But my back feels weak or a dull pain in thaat spot. Could i have had a fracture? Been taking calcium citrate and vit D and walking 4 miles a day and doing some light weight exercises. Does anyone else feel aweakness or dull pain in their back? Will see the doctor next month

Tomatojuice,
Nice name. I have degenerated and bulging discs in my back so I'm in chronic pain although it's not caused from the osteoporosis. How much weight are you lifting and is it alot more than usual or are you just starting out? Maybe the pain is caused from lifting weights even if the weights are real light.

taape, I have only been using 2lb. weights for a short while. But the pain in my back happened before i started exercising.

Maybe it's time to get an xray if you haven't had one since you don't want to make it worse by lifting weights, even 2lb weights. I hope you don't have a fracture. 1 or 2lb weights is all I can handle and only sometimes. Do you know of any other exercise for the upper body that would help osteoporosis besides lifting weights?
