View Full Version : Something in throat feeling - FRUSTRATING!

Can anyone help me out?

Throughout my recovery it's always felt like I've had something stuck in my throat. I realized that it's probably normal after a tonsillectomy but I'm on Day 13 and I'm getting frustrated. It feels like there is something there and if I was to eat something rough that it would push whatever is there down.....

Does anyone know if this is normal even after all this time? Will this go away?

:dizzy:

Thanks!!!

I noticed a similar feeling after the first few days. I think I was actually feeling my the ragged edges of my scabs because they seem to be really low within my throat. For what it's worth, the feeling finally subsided after about Day 6.

Is your uvula stuck to your scabs??? That was my problem, eventually it detached but I agree....its such a annoyance!

I am on day 12 and have the same exact feeling. I have not eating anything besides chicken broth, water, Jello & Ensure since the surgery. Everytime I try to eat anything including mash potatoes it feels like something is pushing it up. I am so hungry and weak from not eating and I don't know what it could be, it feels like something is lodged in the back of my throat. Has anyone else experienced this?? I can't take it anymore.
