Enoughwithit 09-10-2006, 07:29 AM Ok... now I'm getting a bit nervous... I don't know, I guess the more it's getting closer and the more I'm anticipating the pain... But it's only 15 days in a lifetime to feel extraordinary afterwards ! No more pain !!! I'm in a bit more pain now that my scabs are coming off more, but it's still not any worse than your worst tonsillitis or strep. It's 11 now, I just had toasts and oj as a last meal before midnight ! lol Will be waking up at 8 tomorrow morning... I will definitely keep you posted on how it went. I think the first day or so is the easiest so far! I'm only 4 days out and it seems like a roller coaster -- one minute I feel fine and the next my throat hurts like the dickens. Was in the surgery room at 11h45, out in the waking room around 12h20... up in the resting area at 1h10 and home by 4h30. The doc presribed some sort of morphine. Little pills that I crush into water. I feel soso... Hurts to swallow but I'm putting ice on my throat and it helps me alot... All for now... I need to sleep a little. SDKing 09-11-2006, 10:53 PM Enoughwithit, congrats on the successful surgery. Now drink lots of liquids and eat lots of soup and stuff...while you have an appetite. As you saw in our previous posts it gets rough in a few days. Enoughwithit 09-12-2006, 11:23 AM Hey all... Ok, so day 1 it is... Had a good night sleep. Slept on my tummy with my head turned. Went to bed at 1 after my pill. Woke up at 2h30 and then at 5 for my other dose. Woke up again around 7h30. Ate a whole jar of baby food (the big ones). Still drinking a lot of water but it's making me cough because it's not going down easily... I threw up yesterday afternoon when I got home. Had been in the car of a little while and that's probably what made me nauseous... But like the nurse told me, it was mostly digested blood. So it is now 11h25, I will need to take my pill at 1. Took 2 tylenols to make the headache go away. I'm contemplating eating a little bit of cream of wheat for lunch... Hope it all goes well. My throat wasn't hurting this morning when I woke up but I'm just up from a 2 hours nap and it burns a little... Anyways... so far, so good. I'm following SDKing's advice and eating as much as I can now... Not anticipating days 4 to 9 !!! lolol Later guys :) Enoughwithit 09-12-2006, 11:24 AM Hey all... Ok, so day 1 it is...
