Long story short ...
I have a high temper and got into a fight with my cousin. At first it was just rough (nothing serious) housing fighting, but then it got serious. He put his arm around my mouth and nose and wouldn't let me breath. I bit him on the arm and then he let go. After about 15 mins, I went to check on him and ask him about the bite. I looked at it and it was red and swollen. No tears in the skin.
He said that after I bit him tiny dots of blood appeared and he washed it off, but he in nature is always exaggerating. I looked at the bite again and it looked like a regular bite. No breaks in the skin, just red and dark red (not blood) where the bite mark was. Now I didn't taste any blood in my mouth.
I'm just afraid I could have caught something, especially HIV/AIDS. I have never had any type sexual activity (abstinence until marriage) and never even kissed anyone I didn't know, except for the occasional grandma cheek kiss. The person I fought is always saying that he is sexual promiscuous and doesn't wear a condom all the time. I'm not 100% sure if he has HIV/AIDS, but I just want to know if he did is there a possibility I could have got it? He will most likely not go in for testing just in spite for me being scared. After we made the truce, he told me he knew he doesn't have AIDS ... but thats not from a test result. I think he was just trying to calm me down.
After doing some research, I found some government sites that have said biting (from HIV+ person to a non-HIV+ person) could technically transmit AIDS. Nothing about a non-HIV+ person biting a HIV+ person on the arm.
Really could use some advice here. I will be going in for a full-round checkup in Nov. before my birthday. Always have done a full physical to make sure I'm healthy an all. I will ask them for an HIV test. I'm just really worried, and keep telling myself that I didn't break the skin. There is no way I got AIDS. But in the back of my head the worries keep coming.
Also can AIDS be transmitted via the epidermal/dermal layer of the skin?
